About SpecScribe

SpecScribe is AI clinical documentation software for Canadian behavioural health practices, built in Edmonton.

It transcribes the visit once the patient's consent is recorded, drafts a structured specialty note and suggests billing codes. A clinician reviews and signs everything before it becomes part of the record.

Behavioural health comes first: therapists, counsellors, psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists, starting in Alberta. Templates for orthopedics, cardiology, dermatology, oncology and pain management sit alongside.

Why SpecScribe

Why we're building SpecScribe

SpecScribe started in Edmonton with one goal: let clinicians spend the session on the person in front of them instead of the keyboard, without giving up control of the record.

General-purpose scribes rarely know what a psychiatric consult needs, which rating scales a specialty uses, or how Alberta's billing and privacy rules shape the paperwork. So we build those into the product: specialty templates, built-in scoring tools, an AHCIP billing review, and an Information Manager Agreement under Alberta's Health Information Act for every practice.

SpecScribe is founder-led. When you book a demo or leave your details in the chat, Adam, our founder, is the one who gets back to you.

How we work

What we hold ourselves to

AI drafts, clinicians decide

Every note is a draft until a clinician signs it. AI-written text is highlighted in the editor, and SpecScribe doesn't diagnose, triage or recommend treatment.

Patient records stored in Canada

Application servers run in Montréal and audio storage runs in Canadian AWS regions; the app refuses to send patient data to storage or transcription services outside Canada. AI drafting runs on Anthropic's Claude API in the United States, after identifiers are removed.

Honest labels

Features that depend on outside approval or data are labelled beta, templates are marked as pending specialist review, and we don't publish accuracy figures we can't back up.

Public pricing

Plans are listed in Canadian dollars on our pricing page, with a 30-day free trial and no credit card needed to start.
